... recently came back from a trip there on her own. She had a good time (been to Bali about 14 times) but did not meet as many people as she would have liked. She didn't want to be in anyone's pocket, but expected to meet people around the hotel for a chat. With the benefit of hindsight, she's knows what she would do differently next time:
1) Choose hotel carefully - she stayed at the Aneka. A lovely hotel, but apparently the rooms are quite secluded by the (lovely) gardens. Her room was particularly "tucked away" and no-one passed her room. Next time she will choose a hotel where she can see people walking past her balcony.
2) Ensure breakfast is included (hers wasn't) - often people meet and chat about their experiences in the breakfast dining area.
