$50 US Dollars 1996

Hi,
My sister has obtained a US$50 note for VOA for 2 adults dated 1996.
Will they accept this or should she try and flog off elsewhere in Bali and just use AUD$ for VOA. She had some trouble obtaining as she is travelling around OZ and finally got one?
Poor sister left two years ago to travel around OZ and has decided to meet us in Bali some people have it tough hey!!!!
