Just back 1 week and already planning next holiday. Unfortunately we only had a short stay of 1 week and only found this site 1 week before we left. Thankyou for the info. we gleaned from you all, you all do such a great job in trying to make the next lucky person's holidays as memorable and enjoyable as yours was. Anyway we did all the usual stuff but we stayed at timeshare so I thought I'd share this with you....never know if anymore timesharers are out there. We have had our timeshare for quite a while in Mandurah, Perth and have used it mainly there. This year my sister booked her timeshare for Bali for her family, alas her husband couldn't go....could I step in at the last moment? NOT only could I step in but my 16 3/4 yr. old said she could too, to accompany my sisters 20 yr. old. and help look after us oldies! AND do you know what I had enough FLYBUYS for the 2 tickets...just paid a bit towards the maintenance costs and away we were.
The Peninsula Beach is in Tanung Benoa, a 20 min. ride from Kuta, 10 min. from the airport. We had 2 huge bedrooms, 2 bathrooms,
lounge/dining room and a kitchen. Lounge room had a pullout 2 person bed in the sofa.We used the kitchen only for breakfast and only because of time.....we only had 5 days really and relaxing having breakfast wasn't on our list of priorities. The rooms were clean and cleaned everyday. Fresh towels everyday and they did our washing up but not the drying up? One bedroom had a kingsize bed and attatched ensuite with bath/shower, vanity and toilet. Also had the inroom safe in the wardrobe. 2nd bedroom had 2 singles. The 2nd bathroom was alongside and had shower/vanity and toilet. This could be used from rest of suite as well as the bedroom. My daughter took her laptop/leads/music and the staff came to the room and set it up for us for free. Access to the internet was at our fingertips at a very reasonable price. Internet also available at the business centre but only 1 computer in there, so first come first served. We requested ironing board, iron and hairdryer on first day and they were there within minutes....we used them once! Individually controlled airconditioning in each bedroom and the lounge. THREE tv's connected to satellite...dvd players available for hire. Never used the TV at all only to view our video one day. 1 large bottle of water supplied each day and teabags, coffee and sugar but not milk. Large fridge to put all our goodies in. The hotel had all the usual things, swimming pool, beauty salon, massage by the pool, business centre, 2 restaurants, and a drinks cafe by the pool. Pool towels at the pool for your use. 5 steps from pool you were on the beach, very clean area although we didn't go in. 1 restaurant was a sports bar, very casual and excellent meals/prices. Had a large screen tv and a pool table.Same menu for Jacaranda restaurant, more dressy and airconditioned. Same prices. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served in both. Very friendly staff, open 24 hrs at reception and security around hotel excellent. Extensions were going on whilst we were there and we had 2 or 3 power surges where the electric went off for a few minutes but otherwise we wouldn't have known anything was going on. Anyone wanting any other info. you can e-mail me.
As an afterthought when we were asked around the streets about timeshare once we said where we were staying they said thanks and left us alone, same with the surveys. Could be a tip for those not wanting to be bothered with all that.
