I don't think you'd have any problems finding someone for company at all - Bali is so social that you'd be hard pressed not to! I'm not a single parent by any means (or a parent at all!), but I did travel alone with my Dad (ok, so nor was I that young then -19 - 22 now - but its the principle of the story!) to a reasonably anti-social country on business/volunteer, and I know that even there my Dad ALWAYS found someone or other to talk to/have a drink with/have dinner out with us etc. I think you'll be fine!
