First year we went my little boy was nine and daughter 12.Spent 3 weeks on the Island. The boy does surf so that kept him amused and admittedly we don't stay where there are only tourists, so yes the kids play with the locals. No locals at Coconuts though.
Depends on the kids, 5 days is nothing
