I assume (a) you know how to ride, and (b) you will be starting from the south. Personally, I would not call myself an expert biker, but I do not consider driving over the mountain particularly dangerous at all. The road from Mengwi to Bedugul is excellent, with some traffic of course, but nothing compared to the coastal road Denpasar - Tabanan - Gilimanuk. After you have passed Bedugul and Lake Bratan, and just after you past Lake Buyan, there is a smaller road on your left. Make the sharp turn, leaving the main road. That road takes you to Seririt via Munduk, and it is very good. After it runs along Buyan and Tamblingan, overlooking the lakes, it becomes rather steep until Munduk, but there is no traffic. This road is certainly one of the most stectacular roads in Bali.
Once in Seririt, turn east toward Lovina, which is about 15 minutes away.
In Seririt, I usually turn west and continue to Pemuteran (another 32 kms). I've done the trip probably 40 - 50 times, with no problems. It's 132 km, door-to-door from my house in Ubud, and it takes me just under 3 hours.
Of course you can drive back via Singaraja. The turn up to Bedugul is just before you enter the town. It's a bigger road, but with more traffic.
Have a nice ride and remember, "pelan-pelan."
