I sometimes take a floatie to use in the pool, but whenever I am not using it I remove it from the pool and take it back to my balcony. I don't think that creates a problem for anyone, but you need to be considerate. I have been to hotels where you see towels on a sunlounger, and no-one shows up for hours. I give it about an hour and then I will just move the towel and claim the lounger - fair is fair.
