Hi kepala_udang only 5 religions are recognised in Bali, Hindu, Moslem, Buddhist, Catholic and Protestant. Both partners do have to be of the same religion. So if an Australian met a lovely Balinese man or lady they would have to convert to their religion first to marry in Bali. Most Australians who are not religious opt to have a Protestant ceremony. You do not require any proof to be married as a Protestant. We have specially written a ceremony that while still religious to abide by the legal requirements, suits non-religious couples better. The best way to find out about individual religious issues is to contact me. I freely give advice to anyone without having to organise their wedding. :)
