...had a bridesmaid dress made by a tailor whose shop is in Kuta square. I forget the name of it. She took the material over, as she wanted a very heavy satin and wasn't sure if she could buy it there. She took a photo of the dress she wanted and they made it in 3 days! Remember that dress that Kate Winslet wore to the Oscars one year? It was a sleeveless deep red, with a sash of flowers going over one shoulder.....My sister showed the tailor a magazine picture of Kate Winslet on the red carpet and they made an exact replica of the dress. It turned out absolutely beautiful! I think from memory that it cost about $70 to make, and the material was about $50. The left over satin material was taken to a shoemaker and they made her a lovely pair of matching shoes, with sparklies and beads for about $20. She looked absolutely stunning at her friends wedding :)
