Hard to believe our first week has ended. We are in Bali with our two young children (aged 7 and 5) and one set of their grandparents.
We are currently staying at Green Garden Hotel in Tuban, which has a great location and is very good value. We have stayed there before and were last here in September, so many of the staff remember us.
Whilst the footpaths are now finished (last year a mess) the traffic congestion in Kartika Plaza is worse. This is partly due to the new Discovery Mall and partly due to the Indonesian Holiday which brings many cars across from Java. They have tried to fix the problem by blocking entry to Kartika Plaza from Kuta Square end. Not sure if this is permanent of just over the holiday period - but what it has done is caused all Tuban traffic to dviert and this has caused another issue, adding at least 20 minutes to each trip. Far quicker to walk if only going to Kuta.
From here we spend one week in Keraton at Jimbaran Bay and then one week in Hard ROck Kuta (we always end our stay there as it is so kid firendly and the pool is just great).
Bali is busier than we have seen it in at least 5 years and the Aus school holidays have not even started. We feel as safe as ever. Not sure what the warnings are back home re: travelling - but really do not care. Bali is just great as always.
