I never understood why people carry so much stuff on the plane with them instead of checking it with their other luggage. You only need to take what you need to use between checking your luggage and collecting it at the destination.
Some of these people are so laden you'd think they were crossing the Simpson Desert. And how often do people actually access their hand luggage after it's been stowed?
Okay, some people might have a laptop. You might want to take a change of clothes if there's a long stop-over, or just in case you lose your checked luggage. Maybe your camera is an old one and is larger than a cigarette lighter.
But seriously... what are you guys taking on the plane that won't fit in a 7kg capacity bag? If it's all the shopping that won't fit in your normal luggage on the way home, fair enough. But people do this on the way over, too. My entire luggage for a month weighed 9kgs, including a laptop.
On a related topic... what the hell are people carying in their backpacks that they are wearing in a pub while watching a band? That's just retarded.
