Just back, stayed on Lembongan for a few nights - needed to get away from it all! Hadn't done much preparation, just caught one of those big old outriggers from Sanur across to Lembongan and jumped off at the first stop. Straight away - surprise, surprise, we met a guy who's brother had some good accommodation and wanted to carry out bags. We decided to tough it out and carry our own bags and go to the place we wanted to go to (I really should get a backpack but how on earth would I get all my shopping into it?) and determinedly headed off (with our new friend as guide) to Ketuts. So, as it turns out, he is Ketut's brother - should have let him carry my bag!

Ketut has a row of lovely bungalows the last of which over looks the peaceful bay and across the straight to Agung. We went a little upmarket and took the one with air con. Most have massive beds, are clean and very pleasant. There is a little terrace where you can while away the time on day beds beneath fragrant frangipani. this was our favourite place in the evening, cold beer in hand, watching the seaweed farmers go about their work as the sun sets behind them. Everything here is quiet and peaceful. There is a nice restaurant just up the road, called Waku that does a roaring take-away trade. Beware of Ketut's brother Made - the poor man is obsessed that you might leave the island with money - hold off, shop round before you make any sort of deal with him. I'm speaking from experience - paid over a heap of cash to hire his motorbike for the arvo to ride around the 2 islands and to go out on 'Flash' to do some snorkelling - enjoyed every moment of it though! Enjoy your time in Bali and on Lembongan
