On the way back down from Singaraja we called into David and Moiras restaurant Pacung Indah (I think) to drop off a bottle of booze but they werent there. Had lunch (great food and views). Never mind we will catch them next time. We left the booze with the staff so we hope they got it!
I forgot to tell you, the night before the trip to Singaraja I decided to set my mobile phone alarm so we would wake up at 6.30am and be ready for Mades pick up!
We were well and truly ready because my phone was still on adelaide time so we were up at 5.00am! bali time Doh! I didnt realize until we were showered, dressed and putting on my watch I said to hubby my watch has stopped its not the right time!......then I realize!! Oh No!...all hubby said was hes glad it was me who set the alarm and not him!....lol (hes right there!)
Next day dropped our list of dvds and ps2 games into central disc shop in poppies lane 1 to collect next day. Went back and all were in folders ready to go. If you buy 100 you get 50 free..
I have to tell you about the man in the internet shop, he cracks me up every time i went in there....lol.....are you ready!.....he has bushes(loads of black hair) growing out of each ear!!!!.....sorry!....i cant help but laugh....its so funny! :-)) hubby just looks at me in disgust!.....he was a lovely man and very helpful....lol
Another funny thing, down at the beach for sunset there are lots of school children visiting from java and they want their picture taken with white tourist! so we felt like rock stars because we were so popular! myself (blonde hair) more so than hubby....lol.....(i think he was jealous.....i got all the attention!).....ha, ha, ha
Next we arranged with our driver Artana to take us up to visit a family in Ubud. A girl I work with is Balinese (lucky me, I get to eat the real thing ) and one year when she was in bali with her aust hubby at the same time we were, we arranged to meet and she took us home to her families village in Ubud. Again wonderful people who welcome us with open arms and call us family now. We always take with us any pre loved clothes from friends and family for them to enjoy. We always tell them not to spend money on food for us, but you know what the balinese are like.....out comes the banquet of wonderful food. We use to feel uncomfortable with this but as I said before its the only thing they can do for us and its an honour (for them) to have us visit. One time we just called in without letting them know we were coming and we were told off !! ......lol so now we ring first!
Ate at all the regular restaurants in poppies lane 1, they are all good and many others. Bought heaps of stuff, (I always say I dont need anything this time) lol
Last night checked out of hard rock hotel then went down to the sand island near the pool where they show movies every night, pulled up deck chairs and watched Garfield.
Our transfer people were suppose to pick us up at 10.30pm. 10.50pm we rang and the guy said he would get onto the driver. 25mins later the driver rocks up saying he was running late because he was on a long trip to Singaraja. Well, that was the quickest trip ever to the airport!....lol we were the last people booked on the plane (the staff thought that was funny!) so our luggage was last on too. But because of this we were in the front of the plane so we were in the first group to get off , straight through immigration, our luggage was first off the plane, picked that up and straight through customs. Declared the usual wood, shells, food which the customs fella went over carefully even the wood keyring penis I held up saying this was a present for someone!!...lol....that brought a smile to his face....lol
I must mention Air paradise is cracking down on cabin bags. Only ONE each is allowed. I had my handbag over my shoulder but no I had to put it in my cabin bag. Even the people who purchased duty free goods had to shove them into the one bag. People were complaining because if anything was too long or bulky like kites etc they had to go into the cargo. The only problem with that is we saw these things getting broken and squashed on the conveyer belt with the suitcases.
Cant wait to return, I hope I didnt bore you all too much...thanks.. Kay
