Cost is 10% off the price. Apple basically set the price and have recently reduced their Mini Ipod and the standard Ipod.
When I purchased my mini ipod a few months ago they were i think $499 and have dropped about $100 from memory, so take about $40 off the price duty free. If you want to use your ipod overseas then purchase it withing 30 days of travelling so you can download music onto it and then utilize the Travellers Refund scheme and be reimbursed the GST component on your credit card when you leave australia. Just have the goods with you and your Tax Invoice. cheers
