Through my experiences let me suggest you buy it from somewhere in Australia eg; Target, Kmart,Myers (my son gets staff discount too from the these 2 places so makes them even cheaper)or any electrical company as they are only $299, Hopefully you want 2 or something else with it as you need to spend $300 in the 1 shop with the 1 receipt for GST claiming. Buy it within 30 days of travel. Take it with you, you don't need the boxes just the ipod and the tax receipt and just after you clear customs you can claim the GST back. We bought 2 within 30 days of our last travel + 2 pouches for them and staff discount and claimed back the GST it made them super cheaper than duty free and my kids were able to pre load their songs on so they could use them on the holidays, especially on the plane ;-)
If this doesn't make sense please feel free to email me on the above email address;-)
