there is usually a device just before you go through to board that you put your bag into it is metal and your bag should fit between the bars and there is also scales that weight it as well. We went in Feb/Marc and some poeple had to move some out of their bag into their partners to even out the weight. We aske what diffeernce did it make in the end it is all going on the same plane and the lady said it is to do with the size of the overhead holds and safety if they fall out. Seems if it over 7kgs it might do more damage? Hope this helps
