sorry but certainly sounds like they thought as you were from the faraway US and unlikely to return to Bali in the immediate future they have made an executive decision to 1. ask you for more money , and 2. Not deliver the goods
I reckon the best thing would be to have someone return to the factory to confront them in person and ask for at least the return of your things - have to say I very much doubt that you will get your money refunded . And it sounds unlikely that extra postage on a few lightweight cotton things would be an extra $50 USD or anywhere near that much
Good luck, no point throwing good money after bad, you may just have to write this off to experience :-(
