Peter Mack's on the money. Can get a "combo" bus from Kuta (pick up at your hotel)plus ferry from Sanur. Book at most "travel agents" around Kuta. If you want to stay at the budget hotels on the beach you don't need to book (we didn't last July). The ferry pulls up on the beach and you are greeted but people offering you accomadation. We stayed at Ketuts Losmen - a bit "up market". All in all a great place for a few days to get away from the rush of Kuta. Try a half day boat ride around the island. Hire a motor bike to ride (very slowly!! - no other traffic/cars) around the island (about 2 to 3 hours)
