It's early morning. I'm sitting on the "throne" doing my "morning chores" when one of the kids runs in with the cordless phone and hands it to me.
" This is the bank, did you have dinner in Penang last night"
" No, I'm sitting on the "throne" here in Hobart Tasmania , right now , not really enough time for me to eat and get back here to "expel" " :-)
Transaction was reversed but of course we ended up having to have new cards issued. That's a pain in the ......... part that sits on the "throne".
Don't know where they skimmed our number from :-( We were pretty careful over there to not let our card out of our sight, but then again they can probably get the number of any of the receipts etc in the end anyways.
Because card is also linked to Bank Account it's a pain to get any money , and you have to wait a couple of weeks for new cards to arrive, at which time you also have to change any direct debits that you have coming off that card and........
We got a second low value card seperately from each other. We now use this when we're away. Also means if you lose/get stolen your normal credit card, you've got one available to use still.
That being said, we've never had a problem the last couple of visits.
