Those who have been reading the forum for a few years may be aware of my stand on people telling others that it is safe to go to Bali, or anywhere else in the world for that matter. I am of the opinion that nowhere in the world is safe to travel these days, we should all be aware of this and make our travel decisions accordingly. Putting our heads in the sand and the "everyone is smiling as usual so it must be safe" attitude does not mean a thing. On saying this I do still travel, the decision is made by me, not by seeking reassurance from a forum.
I have linked a post where I copped a flaming (how unusual) after stating that no-one should be claiming it is safe to travel, the date was October 2001.
