With the drugs issue, take all the precautations (padlocks, cable ties & plastic wrapping if available).
Carry your passport & money in your hand luggage. When you arrive in Denpasar, if your bag looks as though it has been tampered with eg. plastic wrapping cut off, leave it on the carousel. As long as you have your passport in your hand, there is nothing in your suitcase that cannot be replaced.
If you are worried about terrorists, just beware. Dont stay out late in crowded areas and if you are in an uncomfortable area, just go back to your hotel.
