We have friends who swear by "Italian Gold", although we don't buy it ourselves. It is said to be widely available in Kuta, so have a look around. The Denpasar stuff is mostly, as Mic says, the more luxurious gold, aimed at the local market. Indonesian ladies use gold as their rainy day money, invest in it and sell when times are hard.
