Be prepared fo the hawkers on the beach. Most people stick within the hotels to be honest the beach at Kuta is not much to write home about (cowers in the corner).
Do speak to them and trade though, they are wonderful people.
Any trip into the island will give you views aplenty.
I dont want to recommend a driver as the admin now frowns upon that. Do an archive search for Jonh and you'll find my preference,
