There seems to be a principle in Bali, "Show 'em the worst room first"; it may be that you were a person who took it. We were shown to a room like this and refused. Had a quiet word with Reception and finished up in Joni 11 where we had a quite good room.
The staff were wonderful, the pool adequate and the cuisine good at the price. We saw no dirt, believe me we guard our hygiene, met no rats except a few pushy drivers outside and were comfortable among some of the nicest people in Bali.
It is a pity that you received such an unfortunate impression that you had them struck off a wholesaler's listing; it is a pity you didn't just talk to Management about your misgivings and action would surely have resulted.
I have no connection with Management but have stayed there, on and off, for 20 years.
