Just back from Bali y'day night and was there for 6 nights since 4 Jun. There were two families with 4 adults and 3 small kids (8,6 and 5).

We have the same concerns about the safety in Bali before we departed. First was the travel warning by the Australian about a month ago, followed by US closing all its consulates in Indonesia (US re-open all consulates on 8 Jun which was good news...at least to persude my wife that things were ok in Bali).

Anyway, all these were over taken by events. We enjoyed the time when we were there. No problem with immigration, custom or porters at the airport. Met by villa's driver at the airport with no hassle at all. Kids have great time at the villa's pool and the occasion sight seeing and shopping. We were at Seminyak area and did not venture to Kuta cos' did not like the crowd there and preferred sometimes quiet. Went to the Kintamani (Vocano) and Ubud. Have a ball and did not feel any threats. Wife and her sister(both were so worried with all the travel warning that they were comtemplating to cancel the trip) were pleased that we did not cancel the trip and were happy with what they saw and the people they met.

Common sense prevail. Have fun in Bali.
