Never had any problems wearing jewellery in bali. Never felt intimidated or concerned that someone might steal it from me. Never actually met anyone that has had anything removed from them either.
Sometimes people get overly concerned but ask yourself this. If you were travelling somewhere overseas other than Bali would you wear it?
Seriously I doubt you will have any trouble, but be comfortable with the decision you make and dont be swayed by my opinion or others here.
