Hi surferchick sorry about your arm. I would check with your travel insurence people before going, to see if they will cover you if once it is off something happens to it again. If you can why don't you have it taken off the day before you leave? My daughter has had three on her arm over the years and they use a long pair of blunt ended scissors maybe you could buy a pair and do it yourself
