I hadn't heard of Bergamot being used for repelling insects before - will have to give it a try. I do know of other essential oils that are known to deep mosquitos and other insects away...
geranium works well, also lavandar, tea tree and basil. Lavendar oil can be applied to the skin undiluted but other oils need to be diluted in a base oil such as soya or almond - or you could use sorbolene. Try 20mL of soya oil with 20 drops of geranium and massage on to arms, legs, neck etc. to keep away the mozzies. You'll smell wonderful too and not be subjecting your body to harmful chemicals!!!
