your father has a need to control - you - for one. I don't know how old you are but his reaction is probably nothing new to you. OK ... so if he doesn't feel comfortable about travel to Bali - best he stay home. But how about you, can you seperate your thoughts and feelings from your father's or do you tend to take on his views. This might be a really important point in your relationship!
"unwilling drug courier" ???? that is an assumption based on the belief that a certain someone is innocent. And even if you believed this to be true you would have had more risk of "being an unwilling drug courier" BEFORE the fact rather than now when everyone is on guard and suspicious. I can tell you now the Balinese will be sooooooo glad of your custom ... they will be very anxious about Australians staying away. We went to the middle east just after 9/11 and the middle easteners were soooo pleased that we didn't stay away - they were hurting badly. The Balinese will be the same. I'm off to Bali in 2 weeks time. You will be best served by YOUR beliefs ..... and your knowledge of Bali seeing how you have been there and your father hasn't. Being a parent doesn't mean that we know everything or are right all of the time and sometimes we need help to grow up so we can let our children do just that.
