Made a claim when Ansett went down the toilet. They paid for the return airfare and the hotel bill and the food (would not pay for the Bintangs). No problems at all.
Remember to keep all receipts and documentation. The policy was underwritten by the Zurich insurance company.
I always use the gold card insurance and am dollars in front even allowing for the excess. It also covers FF tickets.
