Friends of mine have stayed at the Bounty time and time again - I am yet to though because I like to stay in 5 star hotels (I know, I'm a snob!) but will be staying there later this year.

My friends ages range from 20 to 28. It's definitely a fun hotel - lots of people there all the time so it's good to meet people and there is always something to do. When we were in Bali in April/May, our friends stayed at the Bounty so we spent a fair bit of time there. You can walk in from a night out at 4.00 a.m. in the morning (or later) and you are guaranteed to still have people sitting round the pool, drinking (and some even attempting to swim!). It's also very loud! There is always music playing (here's a hint - take a couple of CD's you love from home or buy them over there and give them to the people behind the pool bars and they will play them for you as the music can become quite repetitive).

It's definitely a hotel to go to with friends. A holiday with the "boys" would be perfect there - as is a holiday with the "girls". I definitely wouldn't take a family there or go with my partner. Too much temptation! Only kidding! Seriously though, it's a good hotel - don't expect it to be too nice or anything. It's very simple but what you need.

As for bars, we were staying at the Patra Bali in Tuban and yet every night we found our way to Bagus Pub down Poppies Lane 2 - about 50 meters from The Bounty. It's a very simple pub but very cheap and we absolutely loved the bar staff. There is a guy that works there that does tours pretty much everywhere. His name is Ricky and he is one of the most awesome people I have ever met. He offers very good deals and if you get a few of you together to do some things (like the water sports) then you will get a good deal for yourself! I still keep in touch with him and he is definitely worth visiting! He taught us how to speak Indonesian, he had us laughing, gave us heaps of advice, told us who to go see for what and was a genuinely nice guy. Definitely worth a visit there!! My partner was paying 7,000 for Bintang and I was paying 10,000 for Jungle Juice - be careful of the Jungle Juice though - he makes it pretty strong and it certainly creeps up on you!!

Hope you have a great trip! I'd love to hear how it goes at the Bounty - that's if you can remember anything or the postings aren't too x-rated!! :)
