Have just returned from Tegal Sari, have had good stay. We hired DVD in Kuta for the whole of our Bali stay (three hotels around Bali) and made a passing comment to the staff when they showed us our room at Tegal Sari that it was no good there, and within minutes had a TV in the room! I think most people dont seem to want one so they dont advertise it.
Also they drive you everywhere around central Ubud for free. You just go to reception and tell them which Restarant, shop etc you want and off you go when your finsihed just ring them and they pick you up. They have five vehicles just for transporting guests.
Standard rooms are definaltely standard but thats what you pay for then they get better and better. Have a look at their web site great pictures and all prices etc. If you are like me and dont like heights specify a round floor room the stairs are very high for some reason,
We were very happy - We only learnt about the Tegal Sari from the forum - plan to use it again.
