Wood products will have the possibility of borers, no matter where you buy them. Geneva is no exception. Just put them into a plastic bag and spray with insect spray, seal and leave for a day or two, then bang them out. It's usually enough to kill anything in the wood. If you want to be extra sure, just repeat the process again before you come home.
I had a few in placemates I bought at Geneva in 2003 - Sydney customs were going to confiscate them. I agreed to the $30 fumigation (I had 2 full settings of 10 each of placemats and coasters) - and the woman just gave me a big plastic bag and told me to do what I described above as soon as I got home.
