Travel warnings and things that might or might not happen and are discussed at length from both the optomistic view as well as the pessimistic view always take my mind back to something that I read that was recorded in World War One about two Aussie mates in the trenches of that terrible conflict. Death was always a close companion to all who served there and much thought was given to "will it be my turn today"? One chap said to his mate, in an effort to take his mind from such deliberations, "there are two things in life over which we have absolutely no control. The day that you are going to die and the day that you are not going to die. The day that you are not going to die is just that and nothing that you can ever say or do will change that fact as it is something over which you have absolutely no control. The day that you are going to die is just that and not a thing that you can say or do will change that for it is something over which you have absolutely no control". When the troops were called upon to "go over the top" they would say "lets see what day it is". The prudent person who travels will be cautious and try not to temp fate and observe common sense and avoid places that may be considered as "targets" but in the long run we dont have control over any events that may or may not occur in the future. You could quite possibly fall out of bed and break your neck or be struck by lightning. Just enjoy the delights of Bali for that is something that you do have control over for if you dont then those who seek to intimidate by fear win. I for one will not be giving the slightest thought to not returning to Bali. I have never entertained such a thought at any time in the past 25 years even through the horrors of the nightclub bombings.
