Last time that I looked at my tickets,and every time actually for a lot of years,it clearly states that your baggage allowance is 20 kgs,yes 20 kgs, so not sure where the no tolerance comes in to it.
Most people dont seem to realise that every kilo over a certain weight per aircraft,uses more fuel per kilo to keep the aircraft in the air.This is not to say that the price that they try to charge you per kilo for excess is not excessive,more to the fact that it does cost the airlines more money for fuel especially on a full aircraft.
