If you are going to be walking a lot don't wear a skirt or sarong as the humidity (especially the first few days till your body adjusts) will guarantee friction rash where your thighs meet. Shorts or 3/4 pants are better. Later in the holiday you may find you can wear a sarong or skirt okay. If you do get a heat rash, anywhere, there is a cooling powder you can buy at the local pharmacy - Apotik - which is like a talc, but cools the skin too. I think the container is yellowy or a yellow ochre colour but can't remember the name of it. Drink lots of water! Don't think you can reduce perspiration by not drinking so much. I prefer to pack plenty of bras and knickers and have a quick cool shower and change in the afternoon as well as in the morning. Apart from being refreshing it lessens the risk of sweat rash. Pace yourself. Plan breaks in busy days where you sit for a while or even take a nap. Also be prepared for the brutal but innocent honesty of the Balinese who think nothing of mentioning what size you are, and will call out as you admire a little sundress that they also have it in XXL size! (Their Large is tiny...sizes not the same as Oz or NZ). The bonus is that there are dressmakers there that can copy any garment you bring from home, with your material or a choice from theirs, for much less than a dressmaker at home. Have fun getting your favourite outfits copied.
