My favourite beach for swimming and snorkling is at Selang, which is 1.5 km beyond Lipah Bay. It is a small sandy beach with lots of shells and some trees for shade. The snorkling is sensational there. It is also very easy to get in and out the water. There are no hawkers either!!
You could have lunch in the restaurant at Blue Moon Villas, which is set just above Selang Beach and has great views and fabulous food/drink.
The route from Ubud through Sideman will take you more like 3 hours...Longer if stop off at Tirtagangga, but it is well worth the extra time. You could then return from Amed via the coast rd through Seraya & Ujung to Amlapura.
It will be a long day.... but im sure you will love it
