I was in Perth today and wandered into a little Indonesion/Bali shop.(oh the background music made me think i was there already)
Got chatting to the woman that owns it and mentioned that i was going up to Bali again in a few weeks time.
She told me that if i ever wanted anything bought back to Perth that was large she will charge me dollar for dollar to bring it back.
If i wanted a framed painting for say $60 she will charge $60 to bring it back.....a water feature for $150 she will charge $150 to bring it back....even a day bed she said, i got no idea how much they are but if they were $200 then that's what she charges to bring it back.
The only items that would require further discussion would be axtra large things like 4 poster king size beds etc etc.
Well i thought that was pretty cheap. That includes fumigation, customs, freight etc etc etc, the lot.
She also has a villa in Seminyak with her own staff and she charges $65 per night for that or $450 per week(with the staff).It has a pool and air conditioned bedrooms.I spoke to her about "tipping" of the staff also as that has always been a concern for me.
I know there are many wonderful Villas around (including Balivillas), but are often out of ones price range for a budget holiday.
