depends on conditions, i like the break up this end of the beach, a little bigger generally than kuta, a little less crowded (nothing like Trigg (aggro) Point here in WA) and wait for the right time, when the locals go out you can be sure things are looking good
maybe it was lack of practice, but in November i struggled for half an hour to get the spot, then bang 4.30pm the wind dropped, the waves started consistently breaking 4-5 feet and there was a lineup, three of us took turns carving for thirty minutes non-stop
