Unfortunately, discovering which pubs have cheap (AND cold) beer involves a lot of quality testing. Thankfully, there are heaps of places to carry out this testing. If you go to a pub, you would be up for anything from 6,500rp up to 15,000rp depending on the establishment. Thats for a stubby. You can also get them in "King Browns" but we find that you HAVE to drink them fast as they get warm very quickly and that normally ends up messy! If you go to your hotel's pool bar, then you could pay up to 15,000rp for a stubby. The Barong hotel for example charges 12,500rp for a stubby from the pool bar. Just down the road at the Circle K, the other 24 hour shops or a supermarket, you can buy them for as low as 6,000rp. AND they are ice cold to boot! The most popular beers are Bintang, Anker and Bali Hai. Bintang seems to be the overwhelming favourite though. Enjoy ravee!
