Well here we are back from the Isle of Smiles and still trying to chip off the ice from our fingers and toes.

Flew out on 7th May on Air Paradise 8-15am flight Via Melbourne.
Wish we had a direct flight but this was what we had to settle for.Not many people on the plane from Sydney to Melbourne, but picked up a lot from Melbourne and by the time we left there we were on a full flight.....bugger....was hoping to have some spare seats so we could stretch out a bit. Oh well, could have been worse...

Arrived in Bali on time and loved it when we walked off the plane straight into the smells of Bali. Had to catch a bus from plane to airport terminal but didnt mind. Went in and paid for VOA with AUD. No problems at all. They even gave us our change in AUD too. Then went and picked up our luggage from the carousel and went straight to the Taxi counter.Booked three taxis as there was a few of us plus luggage and we were on our way to Melasti Beach Resort for the first 5 nights.
When we got to the Melasti Beach Resort, filled in paper work and then one of the young girls behind the counter whispered to us that they had put us in Suites. As we had booked for Superior rooms and had never stayed here before we didnt know exactly what to expect.
The room was lovely. A great size and a massive Bed with a little lounge area to watch the telly. Also had a balcony outside.Great size bathroom too.
We quickly unpacked and and changed into our cozzies and went down to sample the temperature of the pool water....mmmmmmmmmmmm. perfect..
Had a bit of a splash around and a duty free drink or two then decided to head down towards the restaurant which was basically on the beach apart from the small laneway. Ordered Bintang and Nasi for everyone.
Bintang was just as we remembered it
Nasi was disgusting. I think that they forgot to add half the ingredients into it as it basically had not taste and no vegies, meat or colouring. It definitely was a big disappointment. I had read that the food at the Melasti Restaurant was wasnt much cop but I thought they could have got the Nasi right....Oh well, there would be many nasi's to be had in the three weeks.Went for another long swim and decided to have a couple of Kahluas.....then toddled off to bed.

Next instalment.......around Legian/Kuta....
