while I was in Bali. I was supposed to fly to Jakarta as I had a flight from Jakarta to Sydney. But at the last minute I got a direct flight home so cancelled it.
I arrive 29th Dec and wanted to fly Denp-Jak 21st Jan. I went to a few travel agents and was told to wait until it got closer to the time.
This I did. A week before the 21st the prices I got were
Garuda 599.000 one way
Lion Air had 399.000 but they only have 3 flights per day 6.00am, 11,am and 8.00pm which didn't suit me.
There are cheaper seats available but they leave early in the morning and late at night. That may suit you.
I have a friend who books Jak-Denp return for only $120 (at Jakarta airport). Not that that will help you.
I suggest going to a travel agent upon arrival in Bali.
Garuda's website has fares also. Worth a look but the other smaller Indonesian airlines seem to be cheaper. When I first went in they didn't even give me the Garuda price. When I asked they said "too dear. Other airlines better."
