As a person who has grown up with two brothers who have both sufferred epilepsy since birth I can understand your concerns. However, the seizures should be able to be controlled by the medication by then, and depending on the type of epliepsy and the severity of seizures, it isn't always necessary to be hospitalised after a seizure.

My eldest brother (now 43) still suffers from it and is what you call a Grand Mal (unsure of the spelling) epileptic which means that he has physical seizures and passes out for a few minutes, while it takes him a couple of hours to recover from the seizures, he does not need to be hospitalised.

Talk to your specialist, I'm sure they'll set your mind at ease.
