The traditional Bali Aga village of Tenganan is just a short drive from where you are staying. The people of the Bali Aga villages have traditions going back several centuries, although they now have an eye open for the tourist dollar too.
It's probably better to go there with a man of the village, rather than just turn up. I can recommend my friend Komang. Like many of the young people from Tenganan, he has had to seek work outside the village as an economic necessity and works as a waiter at Catra New Beach Restaurant in Candi Dasa.

Komang is very modern looking, but he takes his responsibilities seriously and is an excellent guide. His mother is a weaver of the traditional double ikat material, which is unique to Tenganan. You will be invited into the family home, meet the family and have the weaving and other arts and crafts explained to you. You will be encouraged to buy some double ikat material, not cheap, but very special.
The younger children of your group may find this boring, but they would probably be able to find other kids to play with. It's a long time since I've had the responsibility of young children, so I don't really know what they like to do these days.
Two restaurants in Candi Dasa have rock groups on nights which don't clash. Versatile and not too loud. Iguana in the middle and Legends Cafe at the Amlapura end ot the main street.
Thanks for referring to snorkeling as an "extreme sport". Makes me feel quite macho!
