I have just returned from Bali today, so I am posting what I foond:
1. Air Paradise (from Adelaide)- Both ways left on time and arrived early. Current aircraft they are using 737-800 is a bit small for an Intrenational flight.
2. We stayed at Istana Rama on beachfront at Kuta. Facilities were good and is reasonably priced. Great advantage is short walk to everything. Staff really friendly and helpful.
3. Shopping- definitely don't buy on first day (got caught a couple of times). Poppies 2 pretty good, Kuta Square not bad. Going price for Oakleys 20,00rp. Went to Centro not much there. Kids have a ball betering especially for sunnies and Surf Gear. Found a really good Tailor (Dendy in Poppies 1)
4. Restarants-
Kori in Poppies 2 Brilliant
TJ's in Poppies 1 Brilliant
Papa's good food a little more expensive, with children order on the conservative side as serves are big (ie 1 between 2).
Bubba Gumps- Great atmosphere, food good a little expensive.
Rainbow Cafe in Poppies 2- Cheap and great food
Poppies- in Poppies 1- great food, quite location.
Toilets in all were really good.
5. Activities- Sobek Cycling, fantastic, a great way of seeing another side of Bali. Guides are great. Finish with a really nice lunch. Sobek White Water Rafting- fantastic for adults and Kids. We did Ayung river. Lunch also really good. Bali Hai Reef Cruise great fun for Kids and adults. Lunch there is really good.
