my x-box chipped at a place called Upgrade-X. They are in Mt Gravatt. It is not illegal, but does void your Microsoft warranty. However a good installer (like Upgrade-X) will warranty their work. Their work comes with a 3 year warranty, cost me $110, dropped it off at 8:30am this morning, and it was ready 1 hour later. I got their details out of the trading post and there were a few in there, so shop around.
