Forumites and Baliphiles( if such a word exists)may consider their response to a coviction and possible death penalty for Schapelle Corby.

Remember the very public photos from the Barlow and Chambers executions in Malaysia some years back. Will you still love Bali if you see a photo of Schapelle with a tag on her toe as per Barlow and Chambers?

Are those of us from the West, Canada, the US, UK ,Aust and NZ, who are accustomed to a reasonable level of justice, prepared to concede that Schapelle has had a fair trial and her conviction and subsequent execution is in accordance with Indonesian justice or will you bleat your little hearts out about the inhumanity of capital punishment?

I wonder how all those of us who donated so generously to the tsunami appeals will feel if the nation that the Australian taxpayers donated 1Billion plus dollars to, stretches the neck of one of our citizens for a crime that would carry a 10 year sentence under our system?

I hope for Scapelle's sake that she is found "not guilty" but ponder the consequence if the opposite eventuates. Methinks that little Alexander will be doing his best to ensure that if she is convicted, the death penalty is not applied.

May we live in interesting times.
