Your employer has to apply for your working permit and permit to stay which costs about 6,000,000 Rupiah for a year.
After that, you have to contribute US$1,200 per year for a fund to develop the Indonesian work force.
And then, you have to pay 15% tax on a minimum salary of US$1,100 per month (officially the minimum requiremenrt for expats is MUCH more i,e, US$8,000 per month for Australians and US$15,000 per month for Europeans).
The bottom line is: working legally in Indonesia costs you a minimum of slightly over US$300 per month or more which is at today's rate around 2.7 million Indonesian Rupiah. And this is just the cost of working legally, nothing left for you to live on.
To find an employer who pays that money you have to be highly qualified. Indonesians with top credential from Universities in Europe or the US work for less.
Think about it, but good luck!
