In May we came through and the guy didn't even look at the screen. I once came through Mackay aiport, of all places, and they took a mini manicure set off me and suggested I collect it in Melbourne. Now when I say "of all places", nothing against Mackay but I don't think it has international flights so I was surprised they bothered. Since then I've been careful what I pack in my hand luggage but why go without my tweezers, razor and nail scissors if they don't even care to look at it? I have to say I felt very uneasy when I came through and noticed there was hardly any attention paid to what people had in their hand luggage. Perhaps an alarm alerts them to any dangerous materials, you would hope so but there seemed to be a zero care factor on what the majority were carrying. Leaving Melbourne I even had my shoes scanned!!!!
