We have stayed at this hotel many times and have always loved it. Yes, it is big but certainly not impersonal. You have the same opportunity to 'mix' with and talk to the staff as in any hotel large or small. I have found the staff to be nothing short of fabulous and always willing to have a chat.
The pools are great and the gardens are very beautiful.Food is great, yes a bit pricey. The Japanese restaurant is unbelievable, in fact the best Japanese we have eaten anywhere in the world.
It's worth thinking about upgrading to the 'Club'facilities where you have free drinks and snacks for 2 or 3 hours every night, have your own Club pool and a room upgrade too. Good value for money.
